ABSTRACT:
This study investigates the leadership styles of Non-BEED school heads managing elementary schools in the Division of Ilocos Sur, employing a qualitative phenomenological research design. Through in-depth interviews with six school heads, the research explores their lived experiences, highlighting themes such as leadership development, variation of approaches, adaptability, collaborative decision-making, effective communication, essential personal qualities, interpersonal skills enhancement, and challenges faced. Findings suggest that these leaders predominantly adopt democratic leadership styles, emphasizing inclusivity and adaptability in managing school environments. The study contributes to filling a gap in literature regarding leadership styles among non-traditional educational leaders and provides insights for enhancing leadership practices and school management strategies.
